Is your DEI strategy working? The KEY metrics to track

DEI can’t live on good intentions alone. To build inclusive workplaces that actually work for everyone, HR pros need to go beyond vibes and start tracking what matters. So… how do you know if your DEI strategy is doing the work?
Smart metrics to watch:
Representation across levels – Not just hiring. Are diverse employees advancing?
Promotion & pay equity – Any gaps in who gets ahead or how much they’re paid?
Inclusion scores – Use pulse surveys to track belonging. Hint: if scores dip post-promotion cycles, dig in.
Turnover by demographics – Who’s leaving, and why?
A McKinsey report found companies in the top quartile for ethnic diversity are 36﹪ more likely to outperform peers — so yes, DEI is worth it (tosses hair, L’Oréal-style). But it must be more than checkbox compliance.
Pro HR tip: Leading organizations are using DEI dashboards to cut through the noise — tracking real-time data on inclusion, pay equity, and internal mobility. If your metrics still read like a mystery novel, it’s time to rewrite the plot…

Employee recognition = supercharged productivity
Hoops HR - Employee recognition is a game-changer, and the data proves it. A 2024 Gallup study found that employees who receive regular recognition are 45﹪ more likely to stay with their employer for the next two years or more. A McKinsey report adds that 67﹪ of employees rank praise as a top motivator, outshining even monetary bonuses.
Yet, Gallup’s report reveals that only 22﹪ feel they are getting the recognition they deserve. The result? Higher turnover — especially among top performers who are more likely to leave when they feel undervalued…
