In fact, summer job postings were 36.9% higher than pre-pandemic levels — and still 25.7% above 2019.

Some tips to set you up for summer hiring:

🔁 Start Early: Plan and strategize for the hiring process months before your intended start date. This gives you more wiggle room for fine-tuning your game plan.

🎯 Set Clear Goals: Clearly define roles early on. Knowing exactly what skills, qualifications, and experience are needed will streamline recruitment. Setting measurable objectives will also tell you if your hiring process was a success.

📣 Craft Compelling Job Ads: Choose recruitment channels while also leveraging job fairs, open houses, and even traditional job boards. You can also work with a sourcing partner or reach out to past seasonal employees (who already understand the company culture) to expand your reach.

⚙️ Streamline Screening & Onboarding: With tight hiring timelines, you may lose top talent to competitors if your process isn’t organized. Eliminate barriers and maintain engagement — implementing tools like automated screening or video interviews can speed things up while maintaining quality. 

📞 Follow Up & Foster Loyalty: Inch closer to sealing the deal by following-up and making sure candidates do not leave or linger with unanswered questions.

Once your best candidates are onboard, pay attention to the top performers. Perhaps you can invite them next season, or even better, offering them full-time roles!
